STUNAM CONSTITUTION, ADDRESS, OBJECT, NAME AND DURATION

CHAPTER I

ARTICLE 1. According to the will of its members, its statement principles and in accordance with the charter dated 27 March 1977, is constituted the Union of Workers National Autonomous University of Mexico, which stands are “STUNAM.

ARTICLE 2. The headquarters of Union City is Mexico, Distrito Federal, Avenida Universidad No. 779 Colonia del Valle, Delegación Benito Juárez C. P. 03100

ARTICLE 3. The duration will be for an STUNAM indefinite.

ARTICLE 4. The Union of Workers of the UNAM is objectives:

1. To defend the interests of its members through:

a) The study, improve and defend economic interests, social and professional affiliates.

b) Compliance with Collective Bargaining Agreement and of various laws, regulations and agreements that benefit workers, while not achieving a single labor contract at UNAM.

c) The improvement of wages at a level that meets decent the real needs of the worker.

d) The overcoming of workers through their participation active, creative and critical in the acquisition of knowledge humanistic, scientific, technical, cultural and artwork, and the application of these and knowledge for social transformation.

e) The improvement of working conditions.

f) The reduction in working hours.

g) The struggle for the improvement of economic situation social, political and legal workers.

h) The establishment of social services for their members, acquisition of buildings necessary for its operations and all initiatives legal conditions for the development of their activities.

2. The guarantee of their autonomy and political independence in connection with the authorities of the institution, with bourgeois political parties, with labor organizations non-democratic and independent State and the State itself.

3. Participation in political and social issues the country through:

a) The identification with the working class capable of carrying out so aware, economic change and socio-political society and achieve the establishment of a just social order that allows workers to live comfortably the product of their work make it impossible to enrich a few with the work of others.

b) The promotion, establishment and maintenance, according to the principles of independent and democratic trade unionism in the fraternal relations and solidarity with groups of workers the country and abroad.

4. The permanent protection of the public universities, its autonomy, continual reassessment of the objectives of democratization education, its critical function in society, projection with a popular and democratic.

ARTICLE 5. The program includes action STUNAM the following objectives:

a) Preserving and expanding the achievements of workers: the right to collective bargaining, the right strike and professional association, the improvement of their standard life and participation in the reorientation of institutions of secondary and higher education.

b) Structuring democratic and independent of motion university workers upper secondary education and higher through the formation, consolidation and strengthening of a national character plural and democratic.

c) Participation with other democratic university in planning a national system of education middle and higher extending the benefits of education all Mexicans and responsive to popular needs.

d) Promote in the proper channels the effective link of teaching with research work.

e) Promote the increased participation of students in developing academic programs.

f) Boosting education and critical analysis critical of the educational systems of schools.

g) Access in real terms of the working class and other classes to middle and higher education.

h) The access of university workers and the proletariat in general, to use the mass media university as an instrument of culture and education.

i) Exceeding the university workers through systems training, education, training and development permanent and increasingly sophisticated.

j) Promote the professionalization of teaching and research.

ARTICLE 6.
